Just wanted to post up some design/pitch stuff I'm doing with my buddy Kevin Grevious of Underworld fame of his creation Blue Marvel for Marvel comics. I love his powers and his backstory, though I hate hate his costume...so I did a bit of redesigning for the fun of it....though I'm not sure if it'll get picked up or not.

But also included in the pitch was his interaction with Cap and the Super Adapatiod. Which I did a redesign of, and two color tests on as well...though I love the classic green look...

I find that doing some quick character sketches helps me get a reign on the character and the overall look I want for the characters in the book...so hopefully this'll get picked up :)- Jonboy

The Scotty Lodell and Travis Charest run from the 90s is pretty much untouchable in my mind--Travis was the tits on this book even though it only lasted 6 issues...though Dustin's run with Joe Casey was pretty dope too, some of Dusty's best stuff eva!

Been looking at a lot of how Eric Canete, Dan Norton, Clem Sauve and Dave Johnson do tech and guns and other shit that blows up...really trying to get a handle on it, though those guys are the masters in my book...if you have no idea who those guys are you really need to google them and prepare to get your mind blown...

The story centers around my all time fav hero team the OLD SCHOOL Doom Patrol, and goes into how Mento and Elasti-Girl come to adopt Beast Boy from his abusive child Guardian....sheesh where's Child Protective Services when you need them....

GeNext United Design stuff! Yippee!

I worked on a 5 issue mini called GeNext United, most of this year with the very talented Chris Claremont....now mind you I didn't work on the first series and was not a fan of the initial costume designs....so I wanted to rework them, though Marvel wanted me to NOT change them drastically... I really really wanted the costumes to mirror who their parents X-Men costumes so folks would have an idea of who was related to whom...but I got vetoed...so there you go... but I'm still fairly happy how these turned out...

and most of these I had to knock out in a day since the deadines were super tight...So I apologize for the slopiness and they're not as design quality as I like...but I hope you enjoy...

oh on some of them you'll see an Indian version of them...since some of the team turn into well... Indians from India...I know sounds crazy but it happened....

Black and white, 11x14" 300lb Bristol in tight pencil only - $160 USD per character and $50 each additional Character (max is 3 characters), Shipping and handling covered for USA only, sorry if you live outside the USA, shipping charges are at your expense and rates do vary. Heya homies, I know I KNOW, been gone way too long, thank you for all the notes of hey get your ass in gear and post you Jacken-Ape. Just been really busy with work and personal life stuff for the past year, but I'll be back and posting again fairly regularly. So def stop by!

Oh I'll be at the SDCC in Artist Alley II-19, next to SUPERSTAR talents like Dan Panosian, Alex Garner, Mark Irwin, Tim Townsend, Joey Mason, Eric "the Dragon" Canete, Anthony Washington, and Jeff Johnson. I feel like the nerdy guy who gets to hang with all the cool kids from school, I just hope they don't realize it and kick me out!

I'll also have a new artbook out which is 32 pages full color and On PREVIEW NIGHT only the book is mere $10, the rest of the con after preview night it's $15 bucks. I'll try and save a couple to sell here to my fellow peeps.

Growing up as a kid I was and well still am a Huge GIJOE Fan! Loved the Cartoon I had all the toys up until the whole Cobra-La thing Really killed it for me.

But the fine folks at IDW and EIC Chris Ryall was kind enough to let me do cover for GIJOE #0 for the new Relaunch with Mr. GIJOE Himself, Larry Hama at the helm. And thank goodness that it is a bit of a reboot minus the Devils Due stuff, not a fan of the Devils Due run on Joe.

Kinda funny that GIJOE started out as Nick Fury and Sheild Vs. Hyrdra......anyhoo, My buddy Scott Kester did the color up and you can read all about the relaunch here:

Heya guys--this set finally came out! And the box and packaging art sports some really dope art by Simon Biachai--awesome stuff! I did a couple cards for the set--and I'm told a couple cards I did like two years ago they didn't use for those sets made it into this one! Woo hooo!
